Teach For Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming Nigeria’s education landscape by empowering youths to develop solutions that address learning challenges across the country.
In a statement on Thursday, this was demonstrated at the 2025 edition of the TFN Pitch Competition held in Lagos recently, where 12 alumni of the Teach For Nigeria Fellowship showcased projects aimed at improving teaching, learning, and inclusion in Nigerian schools.
Chief Executive Officer of Teach For Nigeria, Molade Adeniyi, said the initiative was part of the organisation’s mission to equip its alumni with the skills and resources needed to create sustainable impact in the education sector.
“The programme supports the growth of early-stage social innovations that address systemic challenges in education. Since 2020, it has supported over 60 projects, disbursed more than N10m in seed funding, and impacted over 2,500 educators and 15,000 children nationwide,” she said.
According to the statement, 12 finalists presented their solutions before a panel of judges comprising representatives from the Oando Foundation, British Council, Wema Bank, and Alpha Michelle Appraisals Limited.
At the end of the competition, Adetomiwa Awofeso, founder of Scholaride Initiative, emerged as the winner for his literacy and numeracy project in Makoko. Olayinka Adeosun of STEAM Dock and Emmanuel Epueme of CareerLab were named first and second runners-up, respectively.
It noted that the Chairman of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, commended TFN for its dedication to improving learning outcomes and nurturing the next generation of education leaders.
