DecisionSpaak Group has unveiled a N50 million Artificial Intelligence scholarship initiative aimed at promoting AI literacy and equipping Africans with digital skills for the future of work.

The organisation announced the initiative at the inaugural edition of The Spaak Conference 2026, a virtual conference that brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, creators, and technology leaders across four continents.

According to a statement signed by the President and Chief Executive Officer of DecisionSpaak Group, Philip Ade-Akanbi, on Thursday, the scholarship is targeted at students, working professionals, and retirees seeking to integrate artificial intelligence into their careers and everyday lives.

The statement noted that the scholarship fund was initially planned as a N5 million initiative before it was increased to N50 million following support from DecisionSpaak and its partner organisations across Africa.

It added that the initiative aligns with the organisation’s broader objective of equipping 10 million Africans with essential AI skills.

The conference, themed “Reinventing Human Possibility,” featured discussions on the future of artificial intelligence, work, public services, decentralised design, technology for daily living, and purpose-driven innovation.

Speaking during the event, Ade-Akanbi said the conference was designed to create opportunities for innovation and knowledge sharing.

“The Spaak Conference isn’t just an event; it is a new platform for continuous innovation, dialogue, and opportunity creation,” he said.

He added, “By scaling this scholarship to N50 million, we are actively dismantling the barriers to AI education, rethinking old systems, and empowering the next generation of global builders and problem-solvers.”

The statement described the conference as a growing movement focused on connecting African talent with the global innovation ecosystem while encouraging technology-driven solutions to societal challenges.

It further stated that applications for the AI scholarship initiative had officially opened for interested students, professionals, and lifelong learners.
