Prof Ahmad Imam Emerges Nigerian Army Varsity’s Acting VC

The university’s Senate, on Friday, elected Professor Ahmad Imam, from the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Arts and Management Sciences, to serve in the acting capacity.

Prof Ahmad Imam Emerges Nigerian Army Varsity’s Acting VC

 

Prof. Ahmad Imam has been elected as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno State.

He has assured the university’s management staff and Senate of his commitment to sustaining the measures implemented by the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kyari Mohammed, to ensure excellence in academic delivery.

Prof. Imam made this pledge while addressing the Senate following his election as Acting Vice Chancellor during the university’s 2nd special Senate meeting.

The university’s Senate, on Friday, elected Professor Ahmad Imam, from the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Arts and Management Sciences, to serve in the acting capacity.

Professor Imam had previously served as the Director of Research, and was serving as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), before he was elected acting vice chancellor during the 2nd special Senate meeting of the university.

Prof. Imam while expressing gratitude to the Senate for entrusting him with the leadership of the university in an acting capacity, he pledged to prioritize staff welfare and address outstanding issues concerning the university community.

“I wish to sincerely appreciate you finding me worthy to pilot the leadership of this university. I must assure you here with all sincerity that measures implemented by the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Kyari Mohammed will be sustained for excellence academic delivery.

“I will collaborate with the newly constituted Governing Council to ensure the smooth running of the university and will prioritize staff welfare and address outstanding issues concerning the university community”. Prof. Imam pledged.

The acting vice Chancellor prayed for the safe return of Prof. Abubakar El-Jummah, who was kidnapped along the Biu-Damboa Road, and urged staff to avoid dangerous routes within and outside the state.

Meanwhile, Prof. Kyari Mohammed the outgoing VC. thanked the senate and the university community for the support accorded him during his tenure, and called for same to be exhibited to enable the acting VC to succeed in his new assignment.
