Omituntun Initiative in Diaspora (OID) has consistently demonstrated its commitment to Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for youth empowerment. This year, OID invites ambitious students and great thinkers to participate in the Seyi Makinde Annual Essay Competition 2025, focusing on innovation, sustainability, leadership, and citizen engagement.

First Prize: N1,000,000

Second Prize: N500,000

Third Prize: N250,000

Outstanding top 50 participants will also receive sponsorship for Leadership Academy training and formal certificate from OID Global.

 

Requirements for Omituntun Initiative in Diaspora (OID) Seyi Makinde Essay Competition

Must be a resident or indigene of Oyo State.

Must be a student of any recognised institution in Nigeria.

Must be between 18 and 35 years old.

 

Selection Process

Submission Requirements:

Essays must be submitted as Microsoft Word documents (.doc or .docx)

Language: English

Word count: 1,000 to 1,500 words (excluding references/bibliography)

Font: Times New Roman, Size 12

Line spacing: Double-spaced

Include your full name, phone number, and email address.

Attach valid proof of student status and residency in Oyo State

Participants are expected to adhere strictly to the general rules and standards.

 

Judging Criteria:

Submissions will be assessed based on:

Originality, creativity, and structure

Understanding of the topic

Depth of research

Application of real-life examples, especially those referencing ongoing or completed projects in Oyo State

Candidates are advised to answer the question as precisely and directly as possible. Any use of AI or plagiarism is strictly prohibited and will result in automatic disqualification.
