Classes are staggered in accordance with the federal government’s guidelines for safe reopening of schools. Pupils in Primary one to primary three will hold classes for three hours between 8am and 11 am; while primary four to primary six pupils would resume at 12 noon and close at 3pm.

Similarly, Junior Secondary School one (JSS1) to Junior Secondary School three (JSS3) students would also be in schools between 8am and  11am; while Senior Secondary School one (SS1)  to Senior Secondary School three (SS3)  students would begin classes by 12 noon and close by 3pm.

Tertiary institutions are also expected to resume today, however the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is still on strike, which definitely would affect studies at the moment, except for private institutions. At the time of filing this report, Boldscholar had not confirmed the level of compliance to the state government directives at the tertiary institutions.

Boldscholar observed that most of the pupils in primary and secondary schools who resumed this morning failed to wear face masks to school and were consequently denied entry into classes by school authorities.
