The Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, has graduated 304 executives from its executive education programmes, urging business leaders to uphold integrity, build trust and create long-term value amid growing uncertainty in the global business environment.
The charge was given during the graduation ceremony held at the school’s Honeywell Auditorium in Lagos on Saturday.
In his keynote address, the Founder and Director of LeadCapital PLC, Abimbola Olashore, encouraged the graduates to see leadership as a duty that goes beyond financial gain and individual success.
“This moment is a commissioning. You are being commissioned into a higher level of responsibility. You are in roles where your decisions will shape organisations, influence markets and impact lives. The question, therefore, is whether you will be leaders who extract value or leaders who create lasting value,” Olashore said.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Beyond Profit: Building Ethical Enterprises, Sustainable Systems and Enduring Legacies in Emerging Economies’, Olashore said trust had become the most valuable currency in today’s business environment as confidence in many traditional institutions continued to decline.
He added that the margin for poor leadership had narrowed significantly, making ethical decision-making and responsible stewardship essential for organisational success.
Olashore also urged the executives to see executive education as more than a means of acquiring technical skills, saying it should also strengthen character, judgment and purpose.
Drawing from his experience as an alumnus of the school’s Advanced Management Programme, he encouraged the graduates to remain examples of principled leadership.
Earlier, the Dean of Lagos Business School, Prof. Olayinka David-West, congratulated the graduates and urged them to lead with integrity and make a positive impact.
“Leadership is not defined by position; it is defined by responsibility, integrity and impact,” David-West said.
She also announced that Lagos Business School retained its position as Africa’s leading provider of customised executive education in the 2026 Financial Times Executive Education Rankings for the second consecutive year.
The 304 graduates completed the owner-manager programme, senior management programme, human resources academy, management acceleration programme and agribusiness management programme.
According to the school, the programmes combined classroom learning, faculty engagement, peer interaction and international modules to equip participants with the skills required to lead organisations responsibly across Africa and beyond.
The ceremony ended with the presentation of certificates and the induction of the graduates into the Lagos Business School Alumni Association.
