The Federal Government has announced a fresh set of reforms designed to boost the quality and competitiveness of Nigeria’s education system, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to the Ministry of Education, the new measures are aimed at creating an inclusive, technology-driven learning environment that equips students and educators with skills relevant to the modern world. The ministry stated that the reforms are structured to address long-standing challenges in data management, teacher development, and learning outcomes.
“These reforms are in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises inclusive, technology-driven, and globally competitive education,” the ministry said in a statement issued by the State House on Monday.
The initiatives focus on four key areas:
Improving data management and accountability across all levels of the education sector, ensuring transparency in policy planning and implementation.
Enhancing teacher quality and professional development by creating more robust training and certification pathways.
Expanding access to higher education for teachers, particularly through flexible learning programs and scholarship support.
Strengthening learning outcomes and national competitiveness to ensure Nigerian graduates can compete in both local and global job markets.
Officials said implementation will involve collaboration with state governments, academic institutions, and development partners.
The ministry added that further details on rollout strategies and timelines will be made public in the coming weeks.
