Hundreds of students and people with disabilities (PDWs) benefitted from the Mega Empowerment instituted by the Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation (ODF) in Ekiti State.  These were part of the regular annual interventions programme instituted by the foundation.

At a programme held in Ado-Ekiti the foundation distributed walking aids to dozens of people with disabilities. Among the items distributed were wheelchairs, canes and crutches.

At a separate event, ODF also flagged off its annual free JAMB registrations for over 1000 indigent students across the 16 local government areas of the state.

Speaking at the empowerment for the PWDs, the ODF founder, Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan said the intervention was to bring smiles into the faces of the underserved and underprivileged members of the society. 

He explained that the foundation had been able to impact positively on many lives, through its humanitarian interventions in many areas of human endeavors.

“The foundation has been able to train youths in various skills acquisition programmes, provided medical interventions, carried out life-saving advocacies as well as consistently distributed relief materials to the needy and food to people with disabilities provided support for widows in the state,” Falegan said. 

“The foundation has been able to train youths in reproductive rights, various skills acquisition programmes, provided medical interventions, carried out life-saving advocacies as well as consistently distributed relief materials to the needy and food to people with disabilities in the state,” he added.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr Aregbesola Michael commended Hon Falegan for the support, stressing that he was overwhelmed with the wheelchair gift given to him. 

Another beneficiary, Mrs Adeleye Olaloye thanked Falegan for bringing joy into her family adding that she was not expecting such from a non - governmental organization at this hard time. 

Also, Mr Apanisile Tope said, it is only God that can reward the founder of the charity organization. 

One of the last year beneficiaries, Prince Adesanya Oladapo commended Falegan for his outstanding performances in empowering the people of the state. He urged well meaning Nigerians to emulate his good intentions. Adesanya urged beneficiaries to ensure good usage of the items benefited.

Apanisile said that the founder had touched many lives in Ekiti in the last few years in a different way.

Meanwhile, at the flag off for 2025 free JAMB forms program a parent, Mrs Toyin Kehinde, said, “Honourable Falegan’s initiative to sponsor free JAMB forms embodies true leadership—a commitment to empowering our youth and investing in their future.

Mrs Kehinde said the gesture was on point and reflected Falegan’s unwavering dedication to education and community development.”

Mrs Kehinde described Hon. Falegan’s free JAMB forms as a beacon of hope for the  Nigerian youths’ educational aspirations setting a remarkable standard for responsive representation. “We love you, you are doing well”, she added.

“The provision of free JAMB forms by Falegan is an awesome testament to his unwavering commitment to the educational advancement of his people and reflects his genuine concern for their future success,” she stressed.
