The Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, will on Saturday, 2nd November 2024 admit a total of 929 graduates into First Degrees, 219 into postgraduate degrees and diplomas.
A breakdown of the First-Degree category showed that 592 were in the regular programmes while 377 are products of the Direct Entry (Top Up) programmes from COLNAS, COLMANS, COLENVS, COLENG and COLFAST Colleges in the university.
Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, Vice-Chancellor, Bells University of Technology, Ota disclosed that for the 16th Convocation and 2022/2023 academic session, the institution produced a total of 91 First Class graduates from the regular and direct entry programmes.
According to the VC, other categories are Second Class Upper 505; Second Class Lower 313 and 60 in the Third-Class grades.
On an interesting note, Prof Ojediran revealed that for the session, two graduates tied as overall best for the 16th convocation.
The duo of Sally Farouk from the Department of Architecture and Leo Nkemaka from the Department of Computer Science both scored a Comulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.94.
However, the VC added that Sally Farouk will deliver the valedictory address at the grand finale on Saturday, 2nd November at the BUPF International Conference Centre within the university campus in Otta.
For the higher degrees and diplomas, the institution will present certificates to 11 Doctorates, 163 Masters and 45 in the postgraduate diploma programmes.
Emeritus Professor Peter Adesola Okebukola, the President of the Global University for Innovation (GUNi-Africa) will deliver the convocation lecture on Friday November 1st, 2024 with the theme: “Leveraging Science and Technology for Boosting the Economy, Youth Employment and National Security”.
According to the Prof. Ojediran, two eminent Nigerians; Emeritus Prof Peter Okebukola and Architect Temitope Shonubi, Chief Executive Officer of Sahara Group of Companies would be conferred Honorary Degrees in recognition of their immense contributions to the field of learning and business development.

BellsTech is proud of the positive news we continually receive from Alumni on their performances as offspring of this vision and, we will continue to identify with them,” he added.
He lauded the Visioner and Visitor to the university, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for walking the talk as the innovative concept of Community University has continued to evolve into remarkable turning point in public engagements and social contracts.
Ojediran commended the synergy and cooperation that existed between the members of the institution’s management, staff and students, saying the partnership has manifested in the overwhelming outpouring of local and international accolades and laurels for the university.
