Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest airline, has extended a powerful hand of support to the KNOSK 100-Naira-A-Day Secondary School in Kuje, Abuja, with a N10 million intervention aimed at strengthening digital learning, expanding access for disadvantaged children, and paving the way for improved academic outcomes in an increasingly technology-driven education landscape.

The landmark donation includes 20 full-year scholarships for pupils whose families cannot meet the school’s N240,000 annual tuition and 10 brand-new laptops valued at N5 million to enhance the school’s ICT laboratory.

The laptops will also help accelerate KNOSK’s transition into a fully functional Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre – a crucial requirement as Nigeria intensifies its shift towards computer-based examinations at the secondary level.

Founded in 2019 with just 30 students, KNOSK now serves over 180 children, many from low-income households who struggle to contribute even the symbolic N100 daily fee that the institution requires.

Despite these financial challenges, the school has consistently recorded outstanding academic achievements, including a 100 per cent WAEC pass rate for its first graduating class and multiple students scoring above 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

KNOSK’s leadership described Air Peace’s intervention as “historic”, emphasising that although the school has previously received assistance from Ireland, Finland, and the United States, no major Nigerian corporate organisation had ever stepped in – until now.

Representing Air Peace, Communications Analyst Hawa Oyinloye Alege praised the determination of the pupils, describing them as symbols of grit and limitless potential.

“We are deeply proud to support this remarkable project – a place where hope, determination, and hard work are constant. These children continue to dream boldly despite the challenges they face, and we look forward to seeing them achieve extraordinary things,” she said.

For SS3 student and scholarship recipient Patience Omuata, the airline’s support is nothing short of life-changing.

“Our parents might not be able to afford the fees, but Air Peace has given 20 of us the gift of education. On behalf of KNOSK students, we thank Mr Allen Onyema for being a father to children like us,” she said.

SS1 student Vivian Odizwe highlighted the transformative impact of the laptops, especially as WAEC moves towards full CBT administration.

“The school needed 40 laptops, and Air Peace has helped us move closer to that goal. Now we can practise, write exams, and build digital skills. We appreciate this so much,” she added.

Co-founder of the school, Mr Kingsley Bangwell, underscored the broader national significance of the partnership.

“Air Peace’s gesture is not just financial support – it is validation. These children came in struggling to read and write. Today they are making distinctions. Air Peace has become part of their story,” he noted.

His wife and co-founder, Mrs Irene Bangwell, described Air Peace Chairman Dr Allen Onyema as a model of courage for the students, noting that his entrepreneurial journey aligns with their lessons on resilience, courage, and character.

Air Peace’s intervention continues the airline’s strong humanitarian track record. From evacuating stranded Nigerians in times of crisis to supporting vulnerable groups at home, the airline has consistently demonstrated a commitment to nation-building.

Earlier this year, during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, it partnered with Raising Star Africa to empower children living with disabilities through education support and essential resources.

The support to KNOSK further reinforces the airline’s identity as a people-centred organisation dedicated to expanding opportunities for young Nigerians. Through this initiative, Air Peace has not only provided scholarships and digital tools – it has offered hope, dignity, and renewed belief in the power of dreams.

As KNOSK students walk into a future shaped by technology and possibility, Air Peace’s gesture stands as a testament to what corporate Nigeria can achieve when compassion meets commitment.
