Zamfara, AGILE Partner to Boost Girls’ Education

 

The Zamfara State Government, in collaboration with the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, has reaffirmed its commitment to improving girls’ access to quality education.

This was the outcome of a meeting between the AGILE Project team, led by the State Project Coordinator, Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdu Gusau, and the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Abdulmalik Abubakar Gajam, in Gusau.

The meeting reviewed the project’s implementation and explored strategies to improve girls’ enrolment, retention, and completion in basic and secondary education across the state.

Mr Gajam said Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration places priority on education reforms, particularly initiatives that expand learning opportunities for girls and other vulnerable groups.

He stressed the need for sustained collaboration to tackle barriers limiting girls’ access to education.

The AGILE coordinator commended the state government for its continued support, noting that the project had made significant progress in expanding educational opportunities for adolescent girls.

Both parties pledged to deepen collaboration to promote inclusive and equitable education across Zamfara.
