Professor Eugene Okoye Nwadialor, Professor of Accounting & Taxation, The Vice-Chancellor Tansian University, Umunya, Anambra State, Nigeria, has said that the University is set to hold its 14th Convocation ceremony on Saturday, October 18, 2025, as he extends hands of invitation to the press and general public to attend the University’s 14th convocation ceremony at main campus in Umunya.

This information was released to on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, by Prof Eugene Okoye Nwadialor in a telephone conversation as he shared briefly to our reporter part of his speech, a text of his press briefing as presented to Journalists at the University’s auditorium, main campus, Umunya in Anambra State on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

According to Tansian University VC, the theme of this year’s convocation is “EDUCATION AS A CATALYST FOR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.” He stated that the theme highlights the university’s contribution to the socio-economic development of society.

In the words of the Vice-Chancellor, Tansian University, Umunya: “The convocation ceremony promises to be a special one, with notable Nigerians set to receive honorary degrees. Engineer Arthur Eze, Ozo Igbo Ndu, will be installed as the pillar of Tansian University, while former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu), and DIG Taiwo L. will also be honored.

“The convocation ceremony will also feature the showcasing of the university’s new gate, earth-breaking of the new Faculty of Law building, foundation laying of the new Administrative Block, and unveiling of the Igwe Michael Anaekwe Eze (Okofia IV Ukpo) Faculty of Management and Social Sciences Building”.

“A total of 577 students are set to graduate with Bachelor’s degrees, while 5 students will receive Postgraduate Diplomas, 5 will receive Master’s degrees, and 14 will be awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degrees. The graduands include the first two sets of Nursing Science (B.NSc) students”.

“The breakdown of Bachelor’s degrees to be awarded is as follows: 3 students will graduate with First Class honors, 152 with Second Class Upper Division, 418 with Second Class Lower Division, 3 with Third Class, and 1 with a Pass degree”.

The Vice-Chancellor has invited members of the press and the public to attend the series of activities lined up for the convocation ceremony. The event promises to be a memorable one, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduands.
