The Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) has deepened its commitment to education with the launch of a science laboratory initiative.

The initiative, one of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, is aimed at upgrading school laboratories.

Speaking at the launch, the company’s Executive Director, Business Development, Dr Babatunde Afolabi, said the initiative reflects SAHCO’s broader vision of empowering communities through education and capacity building.

He noted that education is the bedrock of societal growth, stressing that beyond personal success, it drives innovation and community development.

According to him, the project marked a significant milestone in SAHCO’s ongoing efforts to support educational advancement in communities where it operates.

“Science education equips young minds with the ability to question, to explore, and to solve real-world problems. However, effective science education requires more than textbooks and theory; it requires access to modern tools, practical experiences, and an environment that inspires curiosity and discovery,” he said.

Afolabi thanked partners and stakeholders for their collaboration, stressing that such initiatives were only possible through collective efforts and a shared commitment to giving back.

Reaffirming the company’s long-term vision, Afolabi added that SAHCO would continue to invest in initiatives that deliver lasting impact.

While commending the company for the initiative, the Principal of Mafoluku Senior Grammar School, Kehinde Abidake, said the facility would enhance the teaching and learning of science education.

She assured that the school would make good use of the facilities.
