A total of 48 students have advanced to the quarter-final stage of the Cowbellpedia 2025 quiz competition, themed ‘Mega Minds’, following weeks of intellectual battles filled with suspense, high-level performance, and emotional comebacks.

A statement made available to newsmen on Monday detailed the evolution of the competition and the progress made by the young contestants.

Part of the statement read, “The Cowbellpedia 2025 quiz show, themed Mega Minds, has evolved into an electrifying blend of genius, drama, and pure determination.

“Now in its most intense phase yet, 48 students—across both Junior and Senior categories—have emerged as quarterfinalists.

“They are set to face off in a brain-powered battle that promises to captivate viewers across Nigeria.”

It added that this year’s edition of the popular academic competition has seen a significant transformation with the introduction of new features designed to support and engage the young contestants.

“This year’s show got a major glow-up with additions like the Dream Board, Wall of Fame, Practice Pod for last-minute revision, cozy relaxation lounges, and the ever-popular Cowbell Café—a snack zone powered by Cowbell where even the brightest minds can relax and recharge”, the statement added.

Beyond the enhancements to the show’s environment, the core of the competition has remained fiercely academic, testing not only speed and intelligence but also composure under pressure.

It continued, “But this season isn’t just about answering questions correctly. Every episode has been high-stakes and emotionally charged, with segments like Fastest Fingers, 60 Seconds of Fame, and Questions from the Cowbellpedia Bank pushing contestants to their intellectual limits.”

Memorable moments have included record-breaking performances, surprise tie-breakers, and emotional resilience.

“In one unforgettable episode, Onyema Alexis and Adoga Agbo David stunned viewers with record-breaking performances in the 60 Seconds of Fame segment.

“Another episode kept hearts racing with a surprise tie-breaker between Chidinma and Oyekale Obaloluwa, while a deeply emotional comeback by an overwhelmed contestant earned a standing ovation from peers and teachers”, the statement continued.

After an intensive three-stage qualification process, the statement listed the 24 quarterfinalists in each category.

“After a rigorous three-stage selection process, the quarter-finalists in the Junior category are: Ayanfeoluwa, Sochima, Ufondu, Valentine, Odighienaan, Oluwaseyi, David, Jeremiah, King David, Salvin, Hallel, Peace, Bryan, Blessed, Samuel, Joshua, Oladayo, Enike, Obaloluwa, Inioluwa, Gbolahan, Tochukwu, Alexis, and Arthur.

“In the Senior category, the contenders are: Elizabeth, Ireoluwa, Isreal, Jessica, Kamsi, Modebare, Mufeed, Ofumfeke, Osamudiamen, Chinemerem, Daramola, Derek, Oluwadamilare, Prince, Sinmi, Umar, Lyon, Adoga, Kenechukwu, Makinde, Fopefoluwa, Mofetoluwa, Olumide, and Ololade”, the statement explained.

With Nollywood actress Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman as the show host and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as the quiz master, this year’s contest has taken on a more engaging and theatrical tone.

“With Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman as the host and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as the quiz master, the elimination rounds have been more than just game segments—they’ve been intellectual battlegrounds. Linda brings warmth and calm behind the scenes at the Cowbell Café, while Ebuka commands the quiz arena with wit and intensity,” the statement added

Speaking on the impact of the show, the Category Manager, Dairy, Promasidor Nigeria, Donatus Ukpai said: “Cowbellpedia celebrates more than just intelligence—it’s about unlocking the future. These students will change the world, and we are proud to spotlight them.”

The Media and Equity Manager, Olawande Meyungbo, added: “The journey is just beginning. We’re proud of every contestant and can’t wait to see how far these Mega Minds will go.”

Aside from national prestige, the competition also offers life-changing rewards.
