The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has hosted quiz and debate competitions for secondary school students across Ile-Ife.

Media reports that St. John Primary School took 1st position in the Quiz Category while L.A. Primary School, Ilode and Community Primary School, Igboya took 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Olurogbo High School took 1st position in the Debate Category while Ife Girls High School and Fedehan International Colleges took 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

The Ooni, represented by Victor Badejo Foundation, presented the winners with prizes and gifts on Wednesday, at Keshington Hall of Ooni’s Palace in Ile-Ife.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice for Osun, Wole Jimi-Bada (SAN), charged the students to ensure that they work hard to attain greater heights in their chosen careers.

Jimi-Bada, represented by the Senior Legal Adviser to the State Government, Debo Oladinni, encouraged the students to manage their time wisely and avoid any distraction that may slow them down.

He advised them to stay curious, believe in themselves, stay disciplined and never give up to achieve a better future.

Additionally, the Wife of the Convener, Mrs Opeyemi Badejo, explained that the event represented more than an academic contest, but a celebration of knowledge, culture, leadership and the boundless potential of young people.

She commended the Ooni’s reign that has been marked by peace, unity and unwavering commitment to youth development.
