The NCDMB Annual National Undergraduate Oil & Gas Essay Competition sponsored by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is designed to promote the Nigerian Content (NC) initiative and create the awareness for Nigerians to build local capacity to participate effectively in Nigerian’s Oil and Gas industry.

 

Essay Topic: 

NIGERIAN CONTENT AND OPPORTUNITIES IN AFRICAN LOCAL CONTENT ADVANCEMENT

 

Benefits of NCDMB Annual National Undergraduate Oil & Gas Essay Competition

Prizes for the NCDMB Undergraduate Essay Competition include:

1st Place: N1,000,000.

2nd Place: N700,000.

3rd Place: N500,000.

The top 10 National Finalists will each receive a laptop.

The winning essay will be featured in the NCDMB’s in-house magazine, Local Content Digest.

The award ceremony will take place on 14th November 2024.

 

Requirements for NCDMB Annual National Undergraduate Oil & Gas Essay Competition

This contest is open only to 100-200 level students in public and private Tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Entrants must submit a letter of admission 

All essays must be original works specifically written for the competition.

 

Selection Process

Essays will be assessed based on:

 

Clarity of Expression.

Spelling and Grammar.

Originality of Thought.

Depth of Analysis.

Relevance to the Industry.

Conformity to Contest Rules.

All essays will go through a plagiarism check to ensure originality.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a final round interactive assessment on or before 28th October 2024.

October 14, 2024

 

How to Apply

Interested and qualified? Go to Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on ncdmbessay.ng to apply

Register on the NCDMB Registration Page.

Submit the completed manuscript, ensuring it does not exceed 1,500 words.

Include either an admission letter or a signed letter of attestation from the Head of Department (HOD).

Contact information like phone number and email must be provided during submission.

Do not include names or personal details in the manuscript.

Co-authorship is not allowed, and each entrant can submit only one entry.
