Nestlé Nigeria Opens Applications for 2026/2027 Community Scholarship Programme

Nestlé Nigeria Plc has commenced applications for its 2026/2027 Community Scholarship Programme, reaffirming its commitment to expanding access to education and supporting academic excellence among students in its host communities.

Launched in 2020, the initiative has benefited more than 250 students by easing the financial burden of education and providing opportunities for young Nigerians to pursue their academic ambitions.

The scholarship is targeted at students in Science and Technology disciplines and covers tuition, textbooks and other education-related expenses. According to the company, the programme is aimed at equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to Nigeria’s socio-economic development while strengthening educational opportunities in communities where Nestlé operates.

Nestlé said the programme has continued to record impressive results, with more than 70 per cent of monitored beneficiaries either maintaining or graduating with First Class honours. Beyond financial assistance, the scholarship enables recipients to focus on their studies without the distraction of funding challenges.

Applications are open to eligible students from Agbara, Sagamu and Abaji.

For the tertiary category, applicants must be current 100-level students studying science or technology-related courses and must have scored at least 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Applicants for the secondary school category must be SS1 Science students with a minimum of five credit passes in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Nestlé urged qualified candidates to submit their applications through the designated 2026/2027 Community Scholarship portal before the August 28, 2026 deadline.

The company stated that all applications would undergo a verification process involving educational institutions, community unions and community leaders to ensure transparency and fairness in the selection process.

One of the beneficiaries of the programme, Kazeem Fatai, a First Class graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), said the scholarship played a significant role in helping him achieve academic success.

According to him, the continued support from Nestlé motivated him to remain focused throughout his university education.

“Receiving the Nestlé Community Scholarship was more than financial support; it was a vote of confidence in my future. Knowing that Nestlé continued to invest in my education year after year motivated me to stay committed to my goal of graduating with a First Class.

“Today, I am proud to have achieved that dream, and I hope my story inspires other young people to remain focused, work hard and make the most of every opportunity they receive,” he said.

Speaking on the initiative, Nestlé Nigeria’s Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead, Victoria Uwadoka, said the scholarship programme reflects the company’s belief that business success and community development should go hand in hand.

Uwadoka added that the scholarship programme is part of Nestlé for Good, the company’s broader sustainability initiative focused on creating shared value through education, youth empowerment, skills development and nutrition education, while contributing to healthier and more resilient communities.
