The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) says it is strengthening its examination system through digital innovation, capacity building and collaboration with key stakeholders.

The board said the initiative is aimed at transforming Nigeria into a hub for skilled manpower and equipping youths with 21st-century skills in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, stated this in Benin City while releasing the results of the 2025 November/December National Business Certificate/National Technical Certificate (NBC/NTC) and Advanced National Business Certificate/Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANBC/ANTC) examinations.

He said the results reflected the board’s commitment to excellence and efficiency, noting that they were released 64 days after the last paper and 24 days after the completion of marking.

Mohammed added that the 28.42 per cent increase in enrolment and the 13.92 per cent rise in the number of examination centres showed growing confidence in NABTEB examinations.

According to him, analysis of the results indicated that 34,060 candidates, representing 60 per cent, obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

He said 54,009 candidates secured five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics, representing 94.74 per cent.

According to him, “This performance shows a slight variation when compared to the 2024 November/December NBC/NTC and ANBC/ANTC examination results, where 29,880 candidates (67.56%) obtained five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics, and 42,431 candidates (95.94%) obtained five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics.

“Regarding examination malpractice, 259 candidates (0.42%) of the total number who sat for the examinations were involved in malpractice, compared to 256 candidates (0.53%) in 2024. This represents a slight percentage decrease in the incidence of examination malpractice compared to the 2024 November/December NBC/NTC and ANBC/ANTC examinations.”
