The Chairman Idemili-South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Dr. Mrs. Amaka Obi, has rescued pupils of Central Primary School Nnobi from dilapidated classrooms.

The school located at Umuegbu village Ngo in Nnobi community Idemili-South Local Government Area received attention of the Council Chairman, when the councilor representing Nnobi ward 2, Hon. Oluchukwu Ilogbenu, narrated the ordeal of the primary school pupils whom he said needed urgent help from the dilapidated classroom blocks.

At the commissioning ceremony of the four classroom blocks constructed by Dr. Mrs. Amaka Obi for Nnobi Central Primary School, she said she wasted no time in responding to the situation because she believes that the government of Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo doesn’t joke with basic education.

She said her administration prioritises basic education because it is the foundation for educational development, adding that the governor’s free education policy from nursery to secondary school level is indeed revolutionary.

She said that the governor has employed over eight thousand teachers and equally renovating and constructing new schools in communities where there are none in existence coupled with government’s Smart School Projects which she said Idemili-South is a beneficiary even as she urged parents to take their children to government-owned public schools as she believes it is a new era in the state’s education sector.

Head teacher of Central School Nnobi, Mrs. Florence Umeh, said she was very happy when Amaka Obi began construction of the classroom blocks. Mrs. Umeh stated that the school is in dire need of the classrooms because what they had was not conducive for the pupils.
