In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Julius Berger Nigeria PLC has donated a fully equipped Robotics Laboratory to Government Secondary School (GSS), Gwarinpa, Life Camp.

The new lab, stocked with robotics kits, computers, and hands-on learning materials, is designed to give students practical experience in technology, problem-solving, and innovation. The donation was met with excitement as students and staff explored the facility during the handover ceremony.

Project Coordinator for Region Central and North at Julius Berger, Engr. Dr. Amodu Ismaila, highlighted the company’s long-standing relationship with the school. “Gwarinpa Secondary School has long been a neighbour to our camp, educating our children as well as others in the area,” he said. “As a good corporate citizen, Julius Berger remains both a committed partner and a responsible neighbour through various projects in the community.”

Dr. Ismaila explained that selecting GSS as the starting point for the initiative reflects the company’s strategy to kickstart its technology-focused CSR programs, with the full support of the Managing Director. He added, “ICT forms the backbone of modern development, enabling digital learning and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. Once ICT facilities are in place, continuous upgrading and smart classroom initiatives ensure steady progress.”

School Principal Abubakar Ajayi praised the company for its sustained contributions: “What you have done is a motivation for other organisations to copy.

Since Julius Berger is close to me, you are the only organisation I can easily run to. Before I came here, I saw the set of student furniture donated by Julius Berger—very beautiful and durable. We hope this partnership will continue.”

Members of Julius Berger’s delegation also engaged directly with students, emphasizing the importance of technology skills and encouraging them to maximize the new laboratory’s potential.

The donation goes beyond providing physical tools—it represents an investment in young minds and their future potentials. Through initiatives like this, Julius Berger continues to cultivate the next generation of problem-solvers and innovators, reinforcing its belief that empowering students today builds a brighter, stronger Nigeria tomorrow.

Over the years, the company’s CSR efforts have consistently impacted communities across the country. Guided by the philosophy of “building beyond infrastructure,” Julius Berger ensures its influence extends from construction sites to classrooms, homes, and public institutions, proving that true development begins with empowering people.
