Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set its cut-off mark for admission into tertiary institution at 160, 120 and 100 and above for university, polytechnic and college of education respectively for 2020/2021 admissions.

Speaking at its policy meeting today which was held online, the board’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, further revealed that “Out of 1,157,977 candidates who sat for UTME in 2019, about 612,557 were admitted,” this means 510,957 candidates were not considered for admission in 2019.

The Minister of State for Education, Dr. Emeka Nwajiuba, who represented the Minister of Education, Mr Adamu Adamu, directed tertiary institutions to proceed with the admission processes for the year 2020/2021.

Dr. Nwajiuba further advised tertiary intuitions to come up with “reactions that would realign our programmes to these new realities” as regards the current global scourge, COVID-19.
