FUNAAB Hails Lotus Bank and HelloBikee Partnership to Ease Campus Mobility Via E-Bikes

As part of efforts meant to ease movement of students in and out its campus in Abeokuta, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has opened talks with Lotus Bank and HelloBikee on the deployment of e-bikes known as electric motorcycles for students’ transportation.

As part of efforts meant to ease movement of students in and out its campus in Abeokuta, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has opened talks with Lotus Bank and HelloBikee on the deployment of e-bikes known as electric motorcycles for students’ transportation.

Consequently, the University’s Management under the leadership of Babatunde Kehinde, Professor and Vice-Chancellor, met with the teams from both Lotus Bank and HelloBikee where an agreement was reached the supply of the electric bikes, financial mobilisation and the maintenance of the transport system.

Media reports that part of the agreement will involve HelloBike’s responsibility for the supply of the electric bikes, while Lotus Bank will provide financial backing for the project, but the University will be in charge of the usage as the electric bikes are designed to primarily benefit students and staff of the University.

Speaking during meeting held recently with the University Management, Ahmad Opeifa, Co-founder of HelloBikee, stated that the project would involve the introduction of electric bikes to facilitate transportation within and outside the campus.

Aderonke Chukwueleme, Team Lead of Lotus Bank, expressed readiness to collaborate with FUNAAB in promoting mobility using e-bikes, emphasising that one of Lotus Bank’s goals was to impact lives.

Present at the meeting were Adeboye Fafiolu, Professor and Director, Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE); Moses Ayanda, Deputy Registrar II, Vice-Chancellor’s Office; Aderonke Chukwueleme from Lotus Bank; Ayodeji Oyenekan, Co-founder, HelloBikee; Tayo Adebayo, Financial Consultant at HelloBikee, and Representatives of the FUNAAB Student Union led by President, Ibraheem Adeyemi.
