The University of Nigeria, Nsukka has commended its partnership with First Bank of Nigeria Limited, describing the bank’s Digital Xperience Centre unveiled on campus as a “welcome development.”

The centre, the sixth fully automated branch in the country and the first in the South-East region offers customers world-class banking services 24/7.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank, Olusegun Alebiosu, said the Digital Xperience Centre is designed to cater to the evolving needs of consumers, enabling them to navigate the digital landscape confidently.

He said, “It is designed to cater to the growing and evolving needs of consumers and the banking public, enabling customers to navigate the digital landscape with confidence.”

The Vice-Chancellor of UNN, Prof Oguejiofo Ujam thanked FirstBank for the partnership, saying, “I thank the CEO, and I do know that UNN has, for a very long time, been doing business with FirstBank, and we appreciate that partnership, including what FirstBank has done for us.”

The Digital Xperience Centre allows customers to perform transactions at their fingertips and provides a welcoming environment tailored for Gen Z and millennials. The centre is available 24/7, making it convenient for students to transact after lectures.

Alebiosu said the initiative aligns with the bank’s commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and staying at the forefront of financial innovation.

He added, “This is just saying to the whole world that we’re prepared for the future, and our experience on campus is defining the future we are shaping.

He enthused that “the center has been set up and showcased to our customers, our students, and our community, and you can be accounting, updating your status information, or making a cash withdrawal – all of these services can be done at your fingertips. The Xperience Centre, unlike the banking hall itself, is available 24/7. So, for students who take lectures from Monday through Friday, the center is available for them to transact after lectures have already closed.

“It is not just about convenience; it is also about creating a very welcoming environment that reflects the Gen Z and millennials that we have in the community. This is just saying to the whole world that we’re prepared for the future, and our experience on campus is defining the future we are shaping, and hopefully, we will do this in many universities and many centers across Nigeria so that people will start seeing what we are talking about for the future, and we want the university community to appreciate the fact that the future starts here.”

The partnership between UNN and FirstBank is expected to enhance the university community’s access to modern banking services and promote financial inclusion.

The Digital Xperience Centre is a significant milestone in the bank’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
