The honorable Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, declared at the virtual Federal Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday July 7 that schools will no longer re-open for Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) as earlier stated on Monday by the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Nwajiuba.

The minister said schools can only reopen when it is considered safe.  The West African Senior School Certificate Examinations was earlier scheduled for August 5th and September 5th. But Adamu has stated that the examination body cannot be the one to determine when schools will resume in the country.

School resumption for Unity schools are henceforth placed on hold. The Minister also advised state schools to follow suit.
