The Federal Government has honoured Enoch Tobiloba, an HND 2 Engineering student at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), for his outstanding achievement in Nigeria’s automotive industry.
Tobiloba, who won a national design challenge focused on creating a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) hybrid vehicle, was awarded an electric vehicle (EV) by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).
During the award ceremony in Abuja, NADDC’s Director-General, Joseph Osanipin, praised Tobiloba’s innovative vehicle design, which seamlessly integrates CNG and electric power for a greener, more efficient mode of transportation.
The design, aimed at advancing sustainable mobility, was celebrated as a major contribution to Nigeria’s future in clean energy vehicles.
“We are proud to present this electric vehicle to Mr. Enoch Tobiloba, a young designer who represents the future of automotive technology in Nigeria,” Osanipin said.
He further announced Tobiloba’s appointment as an Electric Vehicle (EV) Brand Ambassador, signifying his role in promoting eco-friendly vehicle designs.
Tobiloba’s success shines a light on Yaba College of Technology, an institution renowned for producing top-tier talents in engineering and technology. The College continues to be a leader in fostering innovative thinking and technological advancement in Nigeria.
The College’s Rector, Dr. Engr. Ibraheem Abdul, expressed pride in Tobiloba’s achievement, calling it a testament to the quality of education and skills training offered by YABATECH.
“Enoch’s success is a significant step toward realizing our vision of delivering innovative solutions for societal growth,” Abdul remarked.
