Speaking on matters regarding Children’s Day, observed annually on May 27, the Speaker of the House of Representatives noted that every Nigerian child deserves “all the necessary care and attention, especially quality education that they require to attain their goals in life.”

He noted that he would always, both as a parliamentarian and as an ordinary citizen, support the Nigerian child to achieve its full potentials in whichever area of endeavour. He also enjoined every Nigerian to stand with our children so they can be made to achieve leadership roles as the age-long maxim ‘children are leaders of tomorrow’ declares them.

He encouraged parents to put in concerted efforts in training the children in the interest of the society.

He also assured that government will be put in place policies and legislative frameworks to reduce out-of-school children through sound and quality education, and make laws that will protect the rights of the children.
