The My Family Companion (MFC) National Reading Relay is a national advocacy initiative promoting maternal and child health literacy through structured reading, public engagement, and community participation.
The programme includes a Guinness World Record attempt, mobilizing Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to join a virtual reading and awareness campaign aimed at improving health knowledge and outcomes for women and children.
Participants from different locations across Nigeria and beyond will sequentially read excerpts from My Family Companion, a family health education resource written to simplify maternal and child health knowledge and challenge ignorance and harmful practices that contribute to preventable maternal and child deaths.
The live reading event will be relayed online, forming a chain of knowledge that connects all Nigerians, state by state, and the diaspora, from national leaders to everyday families, serving as Nigeria’s biggest public health event with the widest reach.
