In a bid to address the estimated global 600,000 shortfalls of aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs) by 2042, EncycloAMTs, an advanced e-learning platform, has commenced operation in Nigeria.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the initiative, Air Vice Marshal (rtd) Moses Onilede, told journalists that the company was coming to fill the present and the forecasted gap in the system with its programmes.

Onilede, an internationally recognised engineer with 37 years of experience, expressed that the global aviation industry was facing an urgent challenge with the projected 600,000 aircraft maintenance technicians’ deficit by 2042.

He explained that as fleets expand and safety requirements intensify, the need for accessible, world-class training has never been greater.

He emphasised that the advanced e-learning platform was designed to transform how AMTs are trained worldwide.

Onilede emphasised that EncycloAMTs delivers comprehensive online training programs in General, Airframe and Powerplant subjects, which are aligned with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airman Certification Standards (ACS).

According to him, the platform blends technical rigour with accessibility, ensuring learners – from students to seasoned technicians could master the competencies demanded by regulators and employers globally.

He noted: “What sets EncycloAMTs apart is its innovative approach to simplifying complex engineering concepts. Through structured modules, technical diagrams, interactive case studies, voiceover lectures, and integrated quizzes, the platform creates an engaging learning environment that mirrors the demands of real-world aviation maintenance.

“A growing library of case studies, including detailed analyses of past accidents and technical failures, further enhances its role as a knowledge hub for aviation safety.”

Onilede insisted that his vision was to bridge training gaps, elevate professional standards and prepare a new generation of maintenance experts ready to serve in a rapidly evolving global industry.

“EncycloAMTs is not just about training—it is about shaping the future of aviation maintenance. By making high-quality, FAA-aligned education accessible worldwide, we are building capacity, strengthening safety, and redefining what it means to be an Aircraft Maintenance Technician in the 21st century,” he added.

The CEO explained further that the company’s mission was to help ensure the aviation industry’s backbone—its maintenance workforce—remained skilled, prepared, and equipped for the challenges ahead.

Already, EncycloAMTs has begun attracting learners from across multiple continents, reinforcing its role as a globally relevant platform that connects knowledge, innovation, and practice.
