A Non-governmental organisation, Ripple of Kindness, has unveiled an innovative, multi-stage educational festival, EDUFEST, to inspire, engage, and celebrate secondary school students.
The programme seeks to erase the growing misconception among youths that school is a scam by showcasing education as a powerful tool for personal and societal transformation.
The festival aims to reignite a love for learning, encourage academic excellence, and equip students with skills for future success.
The programme, which will attract participants from Ekiti, Oyo, and Lagos, will bring together students in a friendly, yet competitive environment that promotes learning, creativity, and innovation.
The festival, divided into three key stages, is slated for November in Lagos, where champions from each state will compete for the top prize.
Speaking on the initiative, Project Lead, EDUFEST 2025, Olakunle Opeyemi, said the event is not just a competition, but a movement to restore value to education.
“We want young people to see learning as exciting, empowering, and worth pursuing. The energy from our first stage has been overwhelming, and we look forward to an even more impactful finale.”
So far, Opeyemi said the programme has engaged 15 schools across the three states, with over 100 students directly participating, and hundreds impacted indirectly through community and school engagement.
