The Edo State Ministry of Education has launched EdoCert 2.0, a digital solution that provides seamless access to educational certificates and report cards across schools in the state.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr Paddy Iyamu, speaking on the occasion in Benin, reiterated government ‘s commitment to technologically advance the course of all Edo students to ease both their learning process and their certifications.

The event, supported by the Belinda and Bill Gates Foundation, signified a pivotal advancement in the state’s commitment to digitizing educational records, positioning Edo as a leader in Nigeria’s educational sector.

Iyamu noted that the digital certification solution was unique, positioning Edo State at the forefront of educational credentialing in Nigeria

He listed the merits of the process to include Security and fraud prevention by eliminating certificate forgery and enhancing the credibility of Edo’s education system.

“It also allows for efficiency and accessibility, as students, parents, and institutions can access records online anytime, reducing bureaucratic delays.

“It is also cost saving, as it reduces administrative costs associated with printing, storage, and retrieval of physical certificates. It integrates with future innovations. The system provides a foundation for further digital transformation in education.

“It also has global recognition, as Edo graduates can verify their credentials internationally without delays,” he said.

Iyamu added that the successful launch of EdoCert 2.0 marked a new era for education in Edo State, reinforcing the government’s commitment to digital transformation.

“This initiative not only enhances administrative efficiency but also positions Edo State as a model for digital education solutions in Nigeria.

“With this milestone, Edo continues to lead the way in educational reforms, ensuring that students and institutions benefit from modern, technology-driven solutions through this integration.”

The Edo State Ministry of Education has launched EdoCert 2.0, a digital solution that provides seamless access to educational certificates and report cards across schools in the state.
