Anchor University, Lagos (AUL), will on Friday formally graduate a total of 292 fresh men and women at a combined convocation for its 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions.

The institution will present first degrees to 106 and 160 for both sessions and another 30 graduates from its top-up programmes.

Professor Samuel Oye Bandele, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution disclosed as he briefed the press on activities lined up for the 4th and 5th Convocation Ceremonies.

The VC outlined the institution’s mission to empower students to become leaders who will positively impact society, saying, “The vision of Anchor University, as articulated by its founding father, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, is centred on providing holistic education.

“This includes raising God-fearing leaders, delivering world-class education, and fostering moral and spiritual development.

“The university aims to empower students to become change-makers in the socio-economic landscape of Nigeria and beyond.

“Our students are not just learning for personal success, but for the greater good of society. Our mission is to combine faith, learning, and service in shaping our students for impactful leadership in every sphere of life,” Professor Bandele said.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to high moral values integral to the educational experience, saying students were expected to demonstrate virtues such as dependability, discipline, diligence, and decency in both their academic and personal lives.

The Vice-Chancellor, who shared recent developments on the expansion of programmes run by the institution, revealed that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the addition of Physiology and Software Engineering programmes following a successful resource assessment.

Professor Bandele revealed that the University is also on the verge of signing an MoU with the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa, to run postgraduate programmes from the Doctoral Academy with Anchor University as hub.

He congratulated the Founding Father, Pastor William Kumuyi, the Board of Trustees, management and staff of the institution for working extra to sustain the core values of the institution.
