Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has said his administration is setting a new benchmark in education transformation with the deployment of Edves, an Artificial Intelligence-powered digital infrastructure designed to revolutionise teaching, learning and administration across the 22 pilot Smart Schools in all 22 local government areas.
The governor in a statement said the landmark initiative was not just about digitising education, but about redefining pedagogy by integrating artificial intelligence, data-driven insights, and automation to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
Speaking recently at the launch of the programme, Soludo said that unlike conventional EdTech solutions that primarily streamline administrative processes, Edves is teacher-centred and student-focused, empowering educators to leverage AI for personalized instruction, adaptive learning, and deep inquiry-based education.
According to him, “Embedding Project-Based Learning (PBL) at the core of this transformation, Anambra State ensures that students are not just memorizing facts but actively solving real-world problems, collaborating, and developing essential 21st-century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, and innovation.
“With AI augmenting classroom experiences, teachers can curate dynamic lesson plans, track learning progress with predictive analytics, and create immersive, interactive learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of students.
“With Edves we are setting a new benchmark in education transformation with the deployment of an Artificial Intelligence-powered digital infrastructure designed to revolutionise teaching, learning and administration across the 22 pilot Smart Schools in all 22 local government areas.

Commenting on the process, the governor explained that recognizing the need for a robust and scalable solution, Anambra State conducted a rigorous selection process, evaluating multiple platforms before selecting Edves as the most competent to power Smart Learn Anambra Solution Smart Schools.

Anambra State benefit from the most advanced and effective digital learning infrastructure available today,’ he said.
On his side, the CEO/Cofounder of Edves, Dimeji Falana, said the partnership goes beyond automation to empower educators and students with tools that foster deep inquiry, hands-on learning, and real-world application of knowledge.
He stressed the project ensures secure data management, streamlined administration, and inclusive education for all learners, including those with special needs.

He opined that with the technology government education agencies would gain access to real-time analytics on student performance.
“The AI-enabled school infrastructure monitoring enables smart tracking of classroom facilities, furniture, ICT labs, ventilation, sanitation, and utilities ensures a conducive learning environment.
“The government can gain real-time analytics on student performance, teacher efficiency, and school infrastructure, allowing for evidence-based decision-making,” he said.
