Anambra Debate Team Shines At Tax Debate Competition

The grand finale of the tax debate competition organized by the Society for Women in Taxation (SWIT) has ended in Abuja with Miss Agbola Eniola Hamdat of Queens College, Ilorin Kwara State, emerging the winner with 85 percent point, and Nmesoma Anene of St John of God Second­ary School, Awka, Anambra State, second position with 84 points.

Anambra Debate Team Shines At Tax Debate Competition

 

The grand finale of the tax debate competition organized by the Society for Women in Taxation (SWIT) has ended in Abuja with Miss Agbola Eniola Hamdat of Queens College, Ilorin Kwara State, emerging the winner with 85 percent point, and Nmesoma Anene of St John of God Second­ary School, Awka, Anambra State, second position with 84 points.

Miss Pascaline Ngagu from Regina Pacis International Secondary School, Onitsha, Anambra State, came sixth.

Speaking earlier, the National chairperson SWIT Dr. Bosade Ikhanoba, said that the association wanted to inculcate the importance of taxation in the younger generation in order to improve the economic standard of the country, hence the competition.

She commended the participating schools for their commitment in gathering and preparing the students for the exercise.

The Director Society for Women in Taxation, Anambra State chapter, Mrs. Ifeoma Obieri, expressed joy that Anambra did not lose out entirely but got second and sixth positions and thanked her associate members for their efforts.

The participating students, Miss Nmesoma Anene and Miss Pascaline Ngagu, expressed joy for the privilege given to them to participate in the exercise and thanked God for the success.

The competition involved six states drawn from the six geopolitical zones who joined virtually from their states.

Presentation of gifts to the two participating students and their teachers were the highlights of the event.
