Ambassador Dr. Kema Chikwe to Headline ANA Abuja’s First Reading of 2025

The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Abuja Chapter has announced that Ambassador Dr. Kemafo Nonyerem "Kema" Chikwe will headline its first Reading/Writers Dialogue of the year. The event, scheduled for January 18, 2025, at the Mamman Vatsa Writers Village in Mpape, Abuja, is expected to attract literature and political enthusiasts alike.

Dr. Chikwe, a distinguished figure in Nigerian politics, education, and literature, is renowned for her multifaceted career and contributions to national development. With a background in French studies from the Advanced Teachers’ College in Owerri and advanced degrees from Queen's College of the City University of New York, she holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

As a broadcaster, publisher, and author, Dr. Chikwe has made significant literary contributions, including publishing three books and editing numerous publications. She is also the chief executive and publisher of Prime Time Limited, the organization behind the renowned Ash Magazine.

Her political career has been equally impressive. Dr. Chikwe served as Nigeria’s Federal Minister of Aviation and Minister of Transport under President Olusegun Obasanjo, playing a critical role in national infrastructure development from 1999 to 2003. She later represented Nigeria as the ambassador to Ireland and remains a vocal advocate for women’s rights and environmental sustainability through her involvement in various non-governmental organizations.
