The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Abuja chapter is thrilled to announce that Ambassador Dr. Kemafo Nonyerem "Kema" Chikwe will be our guest for the January Reading/Writers Dialogue. A prominent figure in Nigerian politics and literature, Dr. Chikwe brings a wealth of experience and insight, making this an event not to be missed.

Dr. Chikwe’s illustrious career began in academia, where she majored in French at the Advanced Teachers’ College in Owerri before earning degrees from Queen's College of the City University of New York. She further achieved a Ph.D. in Curriculum Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Her dedication to education is reflected in her extensive work as a broadcaster, publisher, and author, where she has published three books and edited numerous publications, contributing significantly to the literary landscape.

In her political journey, Dr. Chikwe served as Nigeria's Federal Minister of Aviation and previously as Minister of Transport under President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to May 2003. Her leadership in these vital sectors demonstrated her commitment to national development and infrastructure improvement. Following her tenure as a minister, she ran for the Governor of Imo State and represented Nigeria as the ambassador to Ireland from 2009 onwards.

Beyond her governmental roles, Dr. Chikwe has been actively involved in various non-governmental organizations and initiatives aimed at promoting women's rights and issues related to environmental preservation. Her contributions have spanned local and international platforms, enabling her to advocate effectively for the marginalized.

An accomplished educator and communicator, our guest’s role as chief executive and publisher of Prime Time Limited, known for producing ‘Ash Magazine’, shows her ability to blend journalism with advocacy. Her involvement with the International Reading Association and various women's organizations emphasizes her uncommon support for educational reform and women's empowerment.

Join us as we engage with Dr. Kema Chikwe on January 25, 2025, at the Mamman Vatsa Writers Village, Mpape, Abuja. This dialogue promises to offer invaluable insights into the intersections of literature, politics, and personal narrative. Don't miss the opportunity to learn from one of Nigeria's outstanding leaders and authors as she shares her experiences and visions for the future.

We look forward to welcoming you to this enriching event!

Warm regards,

Uthman Qasim

Secretary.
