The Nigerian Institution of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES) is proud to announce its 1,000,000 Scholarship Program for aspiring engineers and scientists. We are committed to fostering talent and promoting inclusivity in the fields of engineering and science globally.

Successful applicants will be expected to participate in NIPES events and mentorship programs.

The scholarship is a one-time award for the academic year 2024/2025.

Non-members selected for the scholarship will receive a complimentary one-year NIPES student membership.

 

Benefits of NIPES Engineering and Science Scholarship

Total Scholarship Amount: N1,000,000

Amount per Recipient: N200,000

 

Requirements for NIPES Engineering and Science Scholarship

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited higher institution.

Studying science or engineering-related courses.

Open to students in 100-level and above.

Mandatory: Applicants must complete at least one free NIPES online course and explain the skills learned in their personal statement.

Priority Consideration:

NIPES student members will be given priority in the selection process. Non-members are encouraged to join NIPES to enhance their chances of selection.

 

Selection Process

Candidates will be evaluated based on:

NIPES student membership status.

Quality and content of the personal statement.

Demonstrated passion for engineering/science.

Completion of a NIPES course and explanation of learned skills.

Alignment with NIPES values and mission.

Timeline:

Application Opens: October 15, 2024

Application Deadline: January 31, 2025

Final Selection: February 10, 2025

How to Apply

Interested and qualified? Go to National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES) on nipes.org to apply

The application process is in 3 stages as follows:

Register on the NIPES website as a student member (for non-members)

Complete a free NIPES online course of your choice.

Submit your personal statement (500-750 words), explaining the skills you learned from the course and how they apply to your academic or career goals here. NB. Provide proof of enrollment and student ID and Include your NIPES membership number (if applicable).

Your personal statement should cover:

Your background and educational journey.

Your passion for engineering/science.

Academic and extracurricular achievements.

Challenges you’ve overcome.

Career goals and alignment with NIPES’s mission.

Skills gained from the NIPES course: Describe the skills you learned from the free NIPES course and how they contribute to your academic or career development.
