The One Million Teachers (1MT) organisation has launched the Teacher Impact Challenge, a competition aimed at rewarding exceptional teachers across Nigeria who have made significant impacts on their students.
In a statement by the organisers, a total of N1.75 million would be awarded to the winners, adding that the teacher with the best impact story and highest engagement will win N1 million, while the first and second runners-up will receive N500,000 and N250,000 respectively.
“To participate, teachers are required to register for the “Let There Be Teachers” conference on the official website and share a short video detailing their impact stories on social media platforms, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, or X.
“The videos must tag @lettherebeteachers and @onemillionteachers, and include the hashtags #LetThereBeTeachers2025 and #TeachersMatter.
“The competition is part of activities leading to the “Let There Be Teachers” conference, scheduled to hold on September 20 at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.
The conference aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss challenges faced by teachers and find solutions at the federal and state levels.
According to Seyi Anifowose, Director for Strategic Partnerships at 1MT and Convener of the conference, the organisation wants to reward outstanding teachers who have made incredible impacts, as they prepare to host 60,000 teachers at the conference.
