A 16-year-old student of Platform College, Ipaja, Lagos, Abdulhameed Boluwatife Ibrahim, has won the ₦10 million grand prize at the Digital For All Challenge, a UK-sponsored national Information Technology (IT) competition organised by Tech4DEV.

Boluwatife emerged the winner after defeating over 15,000 competitors nationwide, having earlier won the Lagos State and South-West zonal stages before his victory at the grand finale in Abuja.

Director of Platform Schools, Dr. Bola Obe, described the feat as a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing globally competitive students.

“Boluwatife’s victory is not just for our school but for Nigeria. It proves that our investment in ICT education is producing future innovators,” Obe said.

Boluwatife, who was visibly elated after receiving his prize, expressed gratitude to God, his parents, and his teachers for their support.

“This competition was tough, but my ICT teachers prepared me well. Winning ₦10 million feels like a dream come true,” he said.

Platform Schools recently launched the Platform Information Technology Academy (PITA) and an A-Level Pre-University programme aimed at equipping students with globally relevant skills.

For the third consecutive year, the school has maintained its dominance in ICT and chess competitions, reinforcing its reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading private schools.
